The Role

Our immediate need is for a qualified accountant with several years experience of working in a professional accounting environment who will be able to hit the ground running and prepare annual statutory accounts and quarterly management accounts from clients Xero, Sage and QB packages to include submission of online VAT returns. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys varied tasks, has good IT skills, and likes to stay busy and organized. You’ll be reporting to the accounting senior manager to ensure on time delivery of financial accounts and MI. It is a role that can expand and develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare statutory accounts and business tax computations
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts and on-line VAT submission
  • Liaise with senior manager
  • Support other staff with preparing year-end accounts for a wide range of companies, partnerships and sole traders.
  • Manage the VAT process for designated clients.
  • Carry out all aspects of work undertaken efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
  • Deliver information to the client promptly and within budget.
  • Manage client communication effectively.
  • Identify where there are shortfalls of work to cover chargeability and alert Manager.
  • Communicate to management progress on workload and plan for efficient completion.
  • Carry out other tasks that may be assigned to you to support the firm and your colleagues.

  • Expert IT skills in Microsoft Office suite, Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
  • Comfortable learning new software and systems
  • Confident in producing annual and quarterly accounts
  • Well-organised, accurate, detail-oriented and proactive
  • A professional attitude and the ability to work independently
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of client information
  • Proven experience in client acquisition
  • Interest in supporting marketing events and promotions
